Webpilo — Privacy Policy
Webpilo (“Webpilo,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) is a Chrome browser extension that acts as an AI agent: you describe a task in plain language and Webpilo carries it out on the web page you are currently on. This Privacy Policy explains what data the extension handles, why, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.
By installing or using Webpilo, you agree to this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not install or use the extension.

1. Summary (the short version)
- Webpilo reads the content of the tab you point it at so it can perform the task you asked for, and it sends that content, along with your instruction, to our backend and to AI model providers to compute the next action or answer.
- We use your Google account only to sign you in and identify your account.
- We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for advertising or for any purpose unrelated to operating Webpilo.
- Some data (your saved “memory” facts, scheduled tasks, settings, and behavior signals) is stored locally on your device.
- You can delete your data at any time by clearing memory in the extension, removing scheduled tasks, revoking Webpilo’s access to your Google account, and uninstalling the extension.
2. What data we handle
We handle the following categories of data. We only process what is needed to run the feature you invoke.
2.1 Authentication information
When you sign in, we use Google OAuth to obtain an access token. We use it to authenticate you to the Webpilo backend and to keep you signed in. We do not receive or store your Google password.
2.2 Personally identifiable information (email address)
Through Google sign-in we receive your email address and basic profile information (such as your name/profile identifier). We use this to identify your account, associate your settings with you, and show which account is connected.
2.3 Website content
To perform a task, Webpilo reads content from the browser tab you direct it to — including page text, page structure, form fields, links, and screenshots of the visible tab. This content is processed to decide and perform the next action and to produce the result you asked for. Relevant portions are transmitted to our backend and to AI model providers (see Section 4).
2.4 Personal communications
Some tasks you may ask Webpilo to perform involve pages that contain your personal communications — for example, searching or reading messages in a webmail service such as Gmail that you are logged into. When you direct Webpilo at such a page, the content it reads to complete your task may include the text of those messages, and relevant portions may be transmitted to our backend and AI model providers to carry out your request. Webpilo only reads such content on the tab you point it at, to fulfill the task you gave it.
2.5 User activity
We handle the instructions you type or speak (your goals and clarifications), and signals about interactions needed to operate the agent (such as the actions it takes on your behalf). Webpilo also records lightweight, non-identifying page “structure signatures” locally to support its automation features.
2.6 Location (only if you provide it)
Webpilo includes an optional “memory” feature that stores facts you choose to tell it. If you save a fact that contains a location (for example, the city you live in), that fact is stored and may be included in the instructions sent to AI model providers when it is relevant to a task. We do not collect precise device GPS location.
2.7 Voice input (optional)
If you use voice mode, your spoken instruction is captured to be transcribed into a text goal. It is processed to run your task and is not used for any other purpose.
We do not intentionally collect health information, financial or payment information, or use your data to determine creditworthiness or for lending.
3. How we use data
We use the data above only to:
- authenticate you and maintain your session;
- understand your instruction and perform the requested task on the current tab;
- read the page as needed to decide and carry out actions and produce your result;
- run tasks you schedule and notify you of their outcome;
- remember the preferences you explicitly ask Webpilo to remember;
- operate, maintain, secure, and debug the extension and backend.
We do not use your data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it.
4. Who we share data with (service providers / subprocessors)
To operate Webpilo we transmit certain data to the following categories of service providers, who process it only to provide services to us:
- AI model providers. To decide the agent’s next action and to generate answers, we send your instruction and relevant page content to third-party AI model provider(s) [e.g. Google (Gemini)] via their APIs. These providers process the data to return a response and do not receive it for their own advertising.
- Backend hosting / infrastructure. Our backend is hosted at
webpilocloud.onrender.com(provider: [Render / your host]). Requests you make through Webpilo pass through this backend.
We may also disclose information if required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users or the public.
We do not sell your personal information or share it with third parties for their own marketing.
5. Data storage and retention
- Stored locally on your device (via
chrome.storage.local): your settings, the memory facts you save, your scheduled tasks, and behavior signals. This data stays on your device and is removed when you delete it or uninstall the extension. - Processed by our backend and AI providers: instruction and page content are transmitted to compute a response. [State your backend retention policy here — e.g. “We do not retain page content after a request is completed,” or “We retain request logs for up to N days for debugging and abuse prevention, then delete them.” Be accurate.]
- Account information (such as your email) is retained while your account is active and deleted on request (see Section 7).
Please replace the highlighted retention statement above with your actual practice — it must be accurate.
6. Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit (encryption via HTTPS/WSS) and take reasonable steps to protect data we process. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Your choices and rights
- View/delete saved memory: open Webpilo and remove any saved facts; they are deleted from your device.
- Delete scheduled tasks: remove them in the extension.
- Revoke Google access: visit your Google Account → Security → Third-party access, and remove Webpilo.
- Uninstall: removing the extension deletes locally stored data.
- Account data deletion request: contact us at [CONTACT EMAIL] to request deletion of account data held by our backend.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights (access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection). Contact us to exercise them.
8. Google / Chrome Web Store Limited Use disclosure
Webpilo’s use of information received through Google APIs, and any information obtained through the extension, adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.
Specifically, data accessed through Webpilo is used only to provide and improve the extension’s single, user-facing purpose (performing the task you request on the current tab). We do not:
- transfer or use the data for serving advertisements;
- allow humans to read the data, except (a) with your affirmative consent, (b) as necessary for security or to comply with applicable law, or (c) where the data is aggregated and anonymized for internal operations;
- sell the data; or
- use the data for any purpose unrelated to the extension’s single purpose.
9. Children
Webpilo is not directed to children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction), and we do not knowingly collect their data.
10. International users
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own, including where our providers operate. By using Webpilo you consent to such processing.
11. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above and, where appropriate, through the extension. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance.
